• Tank Size: Minimum 75 gallons is required. As large, 5-inch wild fish, they need ample swimming space and absolutely must be kept in groups (at least 5-6 individuals) to feel secure.

• Water Temperature: 82–86°F (28–30°C). They strictly require warmer water to maintain a healthy metabolism and strong immune system.

• pH Range: 4.0–6.0. They thrive in very soft, highly acidic water. Utilizing blackwater extract or botanical tannins (like Indian Almond leaves and alder cones) is strongly recommended.
